PROGRAM
Day 1
28.04.2025
Our expedition starts with a beach vacation. If you want to spend more than one day here, we can help you with flight selection and hotel booking.
We enjoy the Mexican sun, white sand and warm waters of the Atlantic. And in a few days we will be swimming in the Pacific - tasting the oceans, friends!

Day 2
29.04.2025
In the morning, we drive to the center of the Yucatan Peninsula, to the Suitun Cenote. At this time of year, the sun's rays coming through the hole in the ceiling illuminate the podium in the center of the cave. You can't dive from it, but you can swim among this beauty and take cool photos!

Next, a short drive to the famous Ik Kil Senate - here we dive and swim in its clear waters, surrounded by dense greenery and vines.

After lunch, we visit the pyramid and ruins of Chichen Itza. We get acquainted with the heritage of the Mayan civilization, listen to the stories of this place, and imagine how people lived here a thousand years ago.

In the evening, we check into a hotel near the complex and gather for the traditional Paganelli's get-together.
Day 3
30.04.2025
Flight to Guadalajara, the cultural capital of the country. The city is famous for its mariachi, tequila, and dishes such as birria. We explore the historic center and have dinner at a restaurant recommended by our local friends.

Day 4
01.05.2025
In the morning we head to the Pacific coast and check into a bungalow on the beach. Here we have a special mission - we will help local rangers increase the population of black turtles. At night, turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. We first dig them up, and then move them to a place protected from predators and bury them there.

Day 5
02.05.2025
Early in the morning, we have a special moment - the hatching of turtles whose 45-day incubation period has ended. Seeing them strive for their first wave is a sight to behold, making you smile and admire.
The rest of the day can be spent on the beach, diving with the adult turtles, or just relaxing and enjoying the ocean.

Day 6
03.05.2025
We return to Guadalajara airport and fly to Mexico City. We check into a hotel in the center of the capital. In the evening, we will have time for a leisurely stroll through the historic streets and squares, as well as dinner in an atmospheric restaurant.

Day 7
04.05.2025
After breakfast, we will take a boat trip along the Sočimilko canals. This place is known for its colorful gondolas and floating gardens. We will slowly sail along the canals, enjoying live mariachi music and immersing ourselves in the holiday atmosphere typical of Mexico.

The afternoon is free for a leisurely stroll through the historic center of the capital, where our hotel is located.

Day 8
05.05.2025
After breakfast, we fly to the second part of our trip - Guatemala. From the capital's airport, we immediately head to Antigua, the colonial heart of the country.
The cobblestone streets, brightly colored building facades and views of three volcanoes (Agua, Fuego and Acatenango) turn the city into a real postcard. Antigua was once the capital of the country, but after the devastating earthquake of the XVIII century, this status was transferred to Guatemala City. Here you can see many ancient churches and monasteries, and some still lie in ruins.
We check into a mansion in the historic center, walk through the markets and squares, and taste the local coffee, which is rightly considered one of the best in the world.
We have dinner and rest before tomorrow's climb.

Day 9
06.05.2025
Today we are going to climb the Acatenango volcano - about 5 hours through the jungle, with stops 9 km, ~1300 m elevation gain. Along the way, the landscape changes at our pace: from dense rainforests to wastelands with black volcanic soil.
At the top is a camp with a stunning view of the most active volcano in Central America, the beautiful Fuego. Small explosions of gas and ash occur every 15-20 minutes. Large eruptions are less frequent. This is one of the few places in the world where you can watch eruptions so close and safe.
We have dinner by the fire overlooking this natural show. Overnight stay in large tents for 4 people each.

Day 10
07.05.2025
Early rise and an hour and a half hike to the Fuego volcano ~5 km round trip, ~600 m elevation gain. Here, at a distance of several hundred meters from the crater, you can see and hear the volcano literally breathing. The sunrise over Fuego is an incredible combination of a fire show and the first sunlight.
We return to Antigua and then move to Lake Atitlan, which Mark Twain once called “the most beautiful lake in the world.”

Day 11
08.05.2025
We spend the day at Lake Atitlan. In the morning, we go on a boat trip between the villages on the shores of the lake. For example, San Juan La Laguna is known for its art workshops and natural fabrics, and Santiago Atitlan has a church where Catholicism is combined with paganism.
Next, we will visit a nature reserve where we can walk across suspension bridges and then take a long zipline ride right over the lake.
We finish the day with a relaxing soak in the thermal springs.

Day 12
09.05.2025
At dawn, we ascend Indian Nose ~4 km round trip, ~370 m elevation gain, a mountainous outcrop that resembles the profile of a reclining man. This view has made Lake Atitlan very recognizable: the sun rises over the mountains, reflecting in the calm water like a mirror.
We return for breakfast and then head to a coffee plantation. Guatemalan coffee is valued for its complex flavor with notes of citrus and chocolate. We will learn how it is grown, harvested and roasted, and, of course, try a freshly brewed drink with an invigorating aroma.
In the afternoon, we fly to Flores and check into a hotel in the Tikal Park.

Day 13
10.05.2025
We meet the dawn in the ancient Mayan city of Tikal. This is one of the largest archaeological complexes, its ruins are lost in the jungle.

The height of the pyramids and the accuracy of their masonry are impressive, especially the Temple of the Jaguar, dedicated to the sun god. Morning here is filled with the sounds of the waking jungle: birds, monkeys roaring, and above it all, the fog enveloping the ruins.

After the tour, we return to Flores, a small town on the island. Here you can stroll along the promenades, visit a coffee shop, or simply take beautiful pictures against the backdrop of the lake.
In the evening, we fly to the capital and spend the night at a hotel near the airport.

Day 14
11.05.2025
After breakfast, we head to the gate or spend some more time in Guatemala City, depending on your return flight.
The two-week expedition through Central America is over. Farewells to new and old friends and warm promises to meet on new journeys.
