Program
Day 1
01.08.2025
Arrival at Milan Airport (Malpensa, MXP). We collect our cars, and hold a briefing with drivers and the team about the upcoming journey.
Around 2 pm, we depart towards Switzerland.
Three hours on the road will pass quickly, and we will find ourselves in the small resort village of Fiesch.
The village of Fiesch is located in the Aletsch Valley, named after the Great Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in Switzerland.
We leave our cars in Fiesch and take the cable car up to the picturesque village of Fiescheralp, locally known as “Kühboden” or “cow pasture.” The car-free village earned its nickname from the cows of Fiesch’s farmers who spend the summer here.
Here, at an altitude of 2212 meters above sea level, we spend our first night of the expedition.
Dinner. Rest.
Day 2
02.08.2025
We wake up in anticipation of an incredible day. After breakfast, we set off for a trek on the Great Aletsch Glacier.
This glacier is immense. It stretches about 24 km in length and covers more than 120 sq. km. It is notable for creating a canyon as it descends into the valley.
From above, two central moraines of the glacier are visible, formed by the rock that the ice scrapes and drags along from the cliffs it passes. When two glaciers merge into one, a single central moraine forms. In the case of the Aletsch, three glaciers converge, so there are two central moraines that run parallel to each other along the entire surface of the icy river.
Upon reaching the glacier, we will have the chance to climb onto the glacier itself and peek beneath it by visiting the ice cave.
It is hard to believe that, according to experts, this natural wonder could completely disappear by the end of the 21st century.
Tired but happy, we start our return to the cable car. First, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a refuge near the Aletsch Glacier.
After reaching Fiesch, we pack up and drive to Interlaken, where we will stay for the next three nights.
We check into our hotel rooms, take a little rest after the drive, and gather at a fondue-specializing restaurant for the “Paganel Family Introduction Evening,” featuring the presentation of expedition T-shirts and badges.
Rest.
Day 3
03.08.2025
Today, we are in for a real explosion of emotions and adrenaline! To make the most of it, we wake up early, fuel up with breakfast, and set off for our adventures.
Our first stop will be the town of Lauterbrunnen, located just 30 minutes away in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps, surrounded by giant cliffs and high mountain peaks.
Lauterbrunnen is known for its many waterfalls, including Staubbach, one of the highest waterfalls in Switzerland, cascading from a height of about 297 meters.
Fans of “The Lord of the Rings” might recognize these landscapes as the inspiration for Elvish Rivendell. Indeed, Lauterbrunnen inspired Tolkien in creating this hidden, mystical valley, protected from all dangers.
Next, we will head towards the cable car visible in the distance. We will ascend to the picturesque resort village of Mürren, located at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level! We will then hike along a mountain path offering fantastic views of the mountains and the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
The path will lead us to the adrenaline-pumping Via Ferrata Murren, one of the most scenic via ferratas in Switzerland. It is relatively simple but famous for its passage through a sheer rock face 700 meters high, a platform where base jumpers leap, and a long “Nepalese bridge” over a chasm that will make even seasoned via ferrata enthusiasts nervous.
After an instruction and putting on our gear, we will boldly take our first steps. Believe that adrenaline and excitement will take over from there!
The route takes about an hour and a half. Afterward, we will find ourselves right by the cable car. We will descend and enjoy a barbecue by the river, sharing our impressions and restoring our energy, as this is not the end.
We will return to our cars and drive for approximately 45 minutes to our next location. We have an evening four-hour hike along the Augstmatthorn Ridge ahead.
Besides breathtaking views, the ridge might reward us with a sighting of the Alpine ibex (Capra ibex).
Alpine folklore tells that ibexes are the spirits of the deceased who have chosen mountain peaks as their sanctuary. It is said that meeting an ibex is a blessing from one’s ancestors.
Augstmatthorn (2137 m) offers stunning views of Lake Brienz (Brienzersee) and the Bernese Alps. On a clear day, the panorama is awe-inspiring. If the weather is favorable, we might even see the peaks of the Eiger and Jungfrau.
We will enjoy the sunset. Filled with impressions from the day, we return to the hotel. Rest.
Day 4
04.08.2025
We wake up and, after breakfast, set off for another day of adventures. Today’s program includes a visit to Lake Öschinensee (1578 m).
The entire southern side of Lake Öschinensee is a steep wall, making access forbidden due to regular rockfalls. Instead, the northern side is quite cozy, with several marked paths. The upper trail is especially attractive as it is less crowded than the lower one. We will walk around the entire northern shore of Lake Öschinensee.
At the top station of the cable car, there is a summer toboggan ride. The summer toboggan can be considered a combination of summer sledding, summer bobsleigh, and mountain roller coasters – a true blend of all these fun activities. Special sleds move on rails by their own weight, and the driver can only control the speed: pulling the lever slows down, and releasing it speeds up. It is incredibly fun, especially when you are alone on the track and can go full speed.
We descend to the lake and once again marvel at its stunning beauty. One side of the lake has a gentle shore, while the other is carved into the mountain, with waterfalls cascading down and snowy peaks visible at the top. It is a perfect spot for a picnic. There are many equipped resting areas around the lake, and we will definitely use one for a barbecue.
Rest, swimming in the lake, Swiss sausages, and good company – the perfect end to the day.
Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 5
05.08.2025
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and, after checking the cars, set off for the drive.
We face a 6-hour drive to Austria.
Driving on mountain serpentine roads can be quite challenging. To stretch our legs and take a break, we will stop for lunch at a picturesque pass. After a delicious meal, we will take a short walk.
We arrive at the town of Mayerhofen. Check into the hotel. Free time.
Day 6
06.08.2025
Today, we will explore some enchanting Austrian locations – Kebema Panoramabrücke and Schlegeisspeicher Reservoir.
We start our hike at the Schlegeisspeicher Lake, which is located about a 30-minute drive from the hotel.
We will head towards one of the most Instagrammable bridges in the world, situated at an altitude of about 2400 meters, close to Olpererhütte.
After approximately 2/3 of the route, we will already see our destination, which will make further progress easier. At the Olpererhütte hut, there is a small restaurant where we can enjoy a glass of beer or have a snack.
After this, we can hike up to the panoramic bridge. Unfortunately, since this place became popular on Instagram, many people visit it, and you may have to wait in line to take the same photo.
We will have lunch and then head to the Dolomites. It seemed like we had already seen everything and that there could be nothing more beautiful. But once we arrive in the Dolomites, you’ll realize that there is!
After four hours of scenic serpentine roads, we will reach our destination. We will spend the next two nights at a small hotel on the Passo Tre Croci pass.
Check-in and rest.
Day 7
07.08.2025
Today, we will enjoy the stunning combination of Lake Soparis and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo National Park with its unique views.
Right after breakfast, we will head for a hike to the lake. Dress comfortably, and do not forget snacks and water for a 3-4 hour walk.
Lake Soparis is located in the valley of the eponymous mountain range of the Dolomites, at an altitude of 1925 meters.
The highlight of the lake is its bright turquoise color. The surrounding limestone cliffs reflect sunlight onto the water, giving it a white-blue tint.
After a satisfying hike, we will return to the pass and regain our strength with a delicious lunch. But we won’t linger; we’ll hop in our cars and within 30 minutes, we’ll arrive at the Tre Cime National Park.
This place is so picturesque that every 100 steps reveals a new landscape – a feast for the eyes and camera lenses.
We will take a circular route, ascend a small pass, and then proceed along the via ferrata to Monte Paterno.
On these cliffs, modern iron structures alternate with military tunnels left from World War I. Once we reach the top, we will take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Tre Cime peaks bathed in the evening sun.
Return to the hotel and rest.
Day 8
08.08.2025
After breakfast, we check out and, taking one last look at the Passo Tre Croci pass, head to the Cinque Torri cliffs.
Wear comfortable shoes, waterproof jackets, and sunscreen, and we are ready to climb up to the viewpoint near Rifugio Nuvolau.
Rifugio Nuvolau is the oldest refuge in the Dolomites, founded in 1883. It is located on top of Mount Nuvolau and boasts a panoramic view of Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Cinque Torri.
Cinque Torri (Five Towers) is one of the most interesting landmarks in the Dolomites. Surrounded by larger peaks, it looks like a miniature five-tower formation reaching for the sky. These cliffs are very popular among rock climbers, and you can always see figures scaling up.
After enjoying the stunning mountain panorama, we will start heading back to the cars. Next, we will have a lunch stop on a scenic terrace and then drive for about two hours to Mount Seceda.
We will spend the night at the base of Seceda. Free time.
Day 9
09.08.2025
At dawn, before the lifts start running, we will drive up to the top of Seceda. We are in for an unforgettable adventure – tandem paragliding over the picturesque ridge.
The pre-flight briefing is simple and short – they explain how to behave during takeoff, landing, and the flight itself.
We take a run-up, and with a little more effort, the air current lifts us up. Seceda with its sharply defined mountain peaks, lush meadows, small cottages, and steep cliffs illuminated by the warm morning sun unfolds in all its beauty from above. Now we know what birds see and feel.
The tandem jump allows us to enjoy the magical panoramas and the sensation of weightlessness without worrying about the details.
Feeling hungry from the flight, we will take a lunch break at a local restaurant with a view of the valley surrounded by mountains.
After making sure no one is left in the sky, we will descend to the base of the mountain by cable car.
Check out of the hotel, and then drive to the Val di Sole valley. The journey will take approximately 2.5 hours. In the valley, we will go rafting on one of Europe’s most famous rivers – the Noce River.
Upon arrival, we’ll go through a briefing, get equipped, and split into groups – six paddlers per raft plus an experienced instructor.
Amidst the splashes and noisy rapids, we will follow the guide’s commands and learn synchronized paddling. This way, the rafting experience will be smooth and enjoyable, even if it is a Class III river.
Afterward, we will change into dry clothes and continue our journey. Next is a two-hour drive to Verona – probably one of the most romantic cities in the world, immortalized by the great Shakespeare.
Check-in at the hotel.
Tonight, we will have a farewell dinner at a restaurant in the city center.
Return to the hotel and rest.
Day 10
10.08.2025
Early departure from the hotel. We have a two-hour drive to Milan. Return the car at the same airport – Milan Malpensa.
Now it is time to say goodbye. Our expedition has ended.
Important! Plan your return flights no earlier than 1pm.
